The Department organizes several activities to cater to the overall development of students of all departments. Grooming them has become an important activity of the department. It organizes Group Discussion sessions, Mock Interviews, Role Plays, and several such activities. Through these activities the four basic skills—Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LRSW skills) are enhanced. Listening to audio cassettes, reading unknown passages, and participating in Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) are conducted from time to time. Through the TAT activity, students are made to interpret and read abstract objects and figures, which not only bring out their creative sparks but also to relate them in their practical life. In 2010, debate competition was organized under the In-Campus Cultural event Ecstasy, and in March 2012, Group Discussion Competition was conducted to build and develop leadership qualities, team spirit, and coordination skills, so that engineering students can cope up taking responsibilities in industries and in other walks of life both within the country and abroad.
